Twenty Fun Fall Things To Do

Enough about that. Here are a few fun activities, some usual and some not so usual, to indulge in with your family on a holiday. You probably do some of these already and you can try those you aren't!

Spend time researching your local city on the internet for fun activities for children and you are sure to find several listed and many are inexpensive or free. Local community centers are typically a good resource for fun and academic activities.

Skip rocks - Scour the shores of the lake to find flat rocks and see who can skip their rock the most times. This activity will be enjoyed by the entire family since even the young members can try skipping rocks.

Volunteer for a community service in your neighbourhood. You can help out in a retirement home or a homeless shelter. You can also collect and donate useful stuff to needy people. These activities will teach your children the value of sharing and give them a sense of social responsibility.

Building something as a family is exciting and gives you a sense of achievement as a team. Be it a school project, an aeroplane model, a handicraft decoration for the living room or a family jigsaw puzzle, do it together and see how much fun you have. Reward yourselves with ice cream when you successfully complete what you started.

Have some planned activities while kids are waiting for the party to start. It is best to start the party when all the kids have arrived. Some kids will be earlier than others. You have to prepare activities for the early comers. You can print out coloring or activity pages that you can put fun hobbies on the kids' tables. Put several trays of crayons and markers on the tables which the kids can use for the activity pages.

Other fun activities that you can do include gardening, scrap-booking, photography, jewelry making, toy making, carpentry, traveling or just spending meaningful time with your kids and grand kids.
